New Roads Swimmers End Their Inagural Season
Congratulations to the entire New Roads Swim Team who swam in their final meet of the season. They have not only set the school records but they all continue to show their skills by achieving more personal best times in both individual and relay events. The boys varsity relay team swam their best time in the 200 Free relay in 1:56 with Jared swimming a personal best in the 50 free leg of the relay in 28 sec. Lucas also achieved a personal best time in the 100 Free in 1:06. The boys varsity also competed in their first 400 Free relay with Jared, Marlin, Lucas, and Ben swimming a great race.
Many of the swimmers just began swimming at the start of this season and should be very proud of their accomplishments!
Also many thanks to Coach Bruno for his excellent support and coaching skills. With his encouragement, the swimmers were able to move out of their comfort zones and compete confidently with the other league swimmers.
Also thanks to Adam Blakis and Jason Schwartz, Head Coaches for Westside Aquatics, for generously providing the New Roads Swim Team with a pool for our team practices.
Of course a huge thank you to David Bryan, Head of School, Bill Webb, Head of High School, and Nick Davidson, Athletic Director, who are responsible for the team's creation. New Roads can now proudly boast about the success of the inaugural season of its swim team.
We all look forward to continued success as the swim team grows!
